The rugby department of Technical High School Klerksdorp (THS Klerksdorp) has officially announced a major sports achievement following the provincial selection of junior rugby player Gomolemo Makune.
Makune has been formally named in the final squad of the Under-16 Leopards (Luiperds) team to compete at the prestigious national Grant Khomo Rugby Week.
His inclusion recognizes his high-performance work rate, commitment, and technical growth within the school's rugby development structures.
National Tournament and Positional Dynamics
The annual Grant Khomo Week is a headline fixture in South Africa’s youth rugby calendar, serving as a critical scouting arena for future national talent. Makune is set to play a key role in the team's tactical deployment:
Field Position: Makune will command the backline from the outside centre (No. 13) position, a role requiring a high defensive work rate and explosive running angles.
Tournament Venue: The provincial fixtures are being hosted at Kearsney College in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.
