Water Tanker Plan in Progress for Potchefstroom – 12 June 2025

This morning, JB Marks Municipality has begun coordinating a water delivery plan in response to continued service disruptions affecting parts of Potchefstroom.

The initial focus will be on supplying critical institutions, including:

• M-Care

• Huis Anna Viljoen

• Saddlebrook

• Ferdies

• Potchefstroom Technical High School (Tegnies)

• Spar Bailliepark

• Pick n Pay Van der Hoff

• Spur at Waterberry

At present, one water tanker is operational, with a second potentially being added later today. Once deliveries to the priority facilities are completed, the tanker will be stationed at a central, strategic location where residents can collect water. This public access is expected to be available later in the afternoon.

In the meantime, residents are encouraged to make use of the following alternative water collection points:

• NG Church Vyfhoek

• Build It Potchefstroom

• Helderzicht

• Private residents with boreholes who have offered assistance

Residents are reminded to bring clean containers when collecting water and to use supplies sparingly.
