Residents and businesses across southern Potchefstroom  are experiencing a major water interruption today, Wednesday, 12 November 2025 , after a pipe burst along Louis le Grange Street  near the Waste Transfer Station. The JB Marks Local Municipality  has confirmed the incident and deployed its technical team to assess the damage and begin repair operations as quickly as possible. The JB Marks Local Municipality  has confirmed that repair work remains ongoing at Ikageng Water Pump Station 7 , following a mechanical breakdown  that disrupted water supply to several parts of the city earlier this week. The breakdown affected water pumping to the Ikageng West Reservoir , leaving areas such as Ikageng Proper (Old Ikageng)  and Potch Industria  with low pressure or no water since the weekend.
