On Wednesday 13 August, Impala in Potchefstroom is throwing it all the way back with Y2K Aksie, a themed event promising a full night of early-2000s nostalgia. From the fashion to the playlist, it’s all about reliving the days when your ringtone cost R5, and you still had to rewind your CDs manually.

Doors open at 8PM and the party continues until either closing time, or until you remember you’ve got that early morning lecture, whatever comes first.

Best Dressed Could Score a Bottle of Zappa

There’s a strong incentive to dig deep in your cupboard for some Y2K fashion. The best dressed guest on the night will walk away with a bottle of Zappa, so expect to see plenty of denim skirts, chunky belts, trucker hats and bedazzled everything. Bonus points if you still own a flip phone.
