Under clear skies and with purple as the symbolic colour of the day, participants joined together to raise awareness, promote solidarity and send a strong message: violence has no place in our community. Strong Community Attendance The march, led by Youth for Change Promosa , saw participation from school learners, families, local organisations, safety volunteers, and residents from all walks of life. Groups carried handmade posters with messages such as “Stop GBV,” “Enough is Enough,”  and “No More Trouble,”  reflecting the deep desire for change. Purple balloons, representing remembrance, hope, and commitment to a safer future, were carried throughout the walk and later released in honour of victims and survivors of violence. On Friday, 21 November, family, friends, and lecturers headed to CTU Training Solutions’ Potchefstroom Campus to attend the 2025 Visual Communications Exhibition of the final-year students. Under the guidance of Ms Mareli Luus, the five final-year students presented an astonishing exhibition showcasing the talent and skills they have gained throughout the year. Classrooms were transformed into exhibition areas where students proudly displayed their work - ranging from a calming “zen den” to a vibrant neon light show. Each year, the Visual Communication students showcase the portfolios they have built over the past year, but this year’s exhibition was particularly special. It marked Ms Mareli Luus’ final year, as she will be relocating to Pretoria at the end of the year to begin an exciting new chapter. A few tears were shed during her speech, showing just how deeply she loved working with her students and colleagues. Attendees gathered around the snack table and grabbed beverages before heading to the various exhibition areas, where they stopped to interact with the students, asking about the inspiration behind the pieces, the mediums used, and their future plans.
