The Merafong City Local Municipality has issued an urgent update to residents regarding severe water shortages across the region. According to the latest public notice dated 12 November 2025, the municipal water system is operating at only 15% capacity  due to low inflow pressure  and continuing supply restrictions  from the bulk supplier.
