The "Fuzzy Facts" are in, and while we can’t scientifically prove that wearing slippers to the office increases your productivity by 100%, we can prove they change lives. Reach For A Dream has officially launched its 2026 Slipper Day campaign, blending lighthearted humor with a deeply serious mission: bringing hope to children fighting life-threatening illnesses.

The Power of "Fuzzy Facts"
Conceptualized by TBWA, this year’s campaign leans into quirky, "not-quite-verified" claims to grab attention. From the idea that legendary coaches dream up winning strategies in their sheepskin boots to the notion that slippers make you a better multitasker, these "Fuzzy Facts" serve as a bridge to a much more concrete reality.
Since 1988, Reach For A Dream has been a pillar of hope in South Africa. The foundation fulfills seven dreams every single day, providing children with moments of pure joy, whether that’s meeting a hero or receiving a long-awaited gift, during their toughest battles.
Your R20 Makes a Real Difference
The goal for 2026 is ambitious: R15 million. This isn't just a number; it represents thousands of dreams waiting to be realized. Participation is simple and accessible:
The Sticker: Purchase a R20 Slipper Day sticker.
The Date: Wear your slippers with pride on Friday, 29 May.
The Reach: Every cent from sticker sales goes directly toward restoring a sense of wonder for children in need.
Small Gestures, Big Rewards
While the true reward is the smile on a child's face, the 2026 campaign includes a few "thank yous" for the public’s support.
A Warm Treat: On 29 May, all sticker holders can claim a free Wimpy Famous Short coffee or hot chocolate.
Instant Prizes: By scanning the barcode on your sticker, you enter a pool to share in R2 million worth of prizes, including vouchers from partners like Dis-Chem, Krispy Kreme, and The Crazy Store.
Where to Join the Movement
You can find stickers nationwide from 13 April to 29 May at:
Wimpy, Dis-Chem Pharmacies, and Baby City.
The Crazy Store, Toys R Us, and Babies R Us.
Crocs and Krispy Kreme.
Online: Virtual stickers and themed slippers are available via the Reach For A Dream web store.https://reachforadream.org.za/slipper-day/

Ultimately, Slipper Day is about more than just comfort or quirky facts; it is a collective stand for the courage of South Africa’s youngest warriors. By trading your dress shoes for slippers this May, you aren’t just following a trend, you are fueling a legacy of resilience that has lasted nearly four decades. Every sticker represents a bridge between a difficult diagnosis and a dream realized, proving that even the smallest gesture can create a lifetime of impact.
