The following summary provides an overview of the key events, reported challenges, and available contact information for residents seeking assistance.

Vyfhoek Reservoir Emergency Repairs
On Friday, 6 June 2025, JB Marks Local Municipality issued a notice regarding emergency repair work on the 450mm supply line feeding the Vyfhoek Reservoir in Potchefstroom. The repairs commenced the same day, and pumping was expected to resume by 23:00 that evening.

Water Supply Interruptions in Multiple Suburbs
7–8 June: Supply Irregularities
Residents in the following areas reported low or no water pressure:
Mooivalleipark
Van der Hoffpark
Ou Bailliepark
Bailliepark
Grimbeekpark
Tuscany
De Land
Initial feedback indicated that:
Pumping to the reservoir resumed on Saturday morning.
Hydrants were opened to release trapped air in the pipeline.
Water flow would return gradually, with lower-lying areas such as Bailliepark and Grimbeekpark receiving supply first, in accordance with the gravity-based distribution system.
9 June: Localised Distribution Issue
Although water was being pumped at 89% capacity from Waterworks to the reservoir, some areas continued to experience little to no water. A site inspection was conducted, and a possible local distribution issue was identified near Parys Avenue.
The water supply in that area was temporarily shut off to facilitate investigation and repair.
A large tree stump obstructed access to the damaged section of pipe, delaying pipe replacement.
Temporary water flow was restored on 9 June, and repairs are scheduled to continue the following day.
The area has been marked off with hazard tape to maintain public safety.

Electricity Supply Disruptions
8–10 June: Outages and Voltage Issues
Multiple power-related reports were received from Rocher Street, Bailliepark, Grimbeekpark, and parts of Wards 3, 23, and 24. Issues reported include:
Fluctuating power supply
Low voltage
Non-functional prepaid meters
These issues were reported to the Disaster Management team. Teams have been deployed, and investigations are ongoing. A root cause had not yet been confirmed at the time of the last update.
Municipal Billing Platform and Account Notifications
6–10 June: Billing Platform Updates
The municipal account for June was not yet available on 6 June. The municipality indicated that billing files are processed in batches, and delays were expected. Residents were advised to register on the online portal to receive statements directly:
