A Festival for Budding Artists
The NWU Gallery is opening its doors to younger audiences with a children’s art programme as part of the Momentum Aardklop Festival 2025. Titled Young Eyes, Bold Art, the programme runs on 8 and 9 October 2025 and is designed to introduce children to the world of art in a way that’s fun, structured, and maybe a little messy (in the best way possible).
When and Where
Venue: NWU Gallery, Building F16G, 11 Hoffman Street, Potchefstroom
Dates: Wednesday 8 and Thursday 9 October 2025
Sessions:
Ages 6–10: 09:30 – 11:30

Each child who takes part gets:
A guided tour of five exhibitions
A hands-on art activity (the part where shirts may never be the same again)
An activity and snack bag to keep spirits fuelled and creativity flowing
At R50 per child, it’s about the price of a takeaway coffee and definitely longer-lasting. Tickets are available through Webtickets.

A Note on Availability
Sessions are capped at 15 children, so bookings are essential. At last check, spaces for the 11–15 year age group were still open. Parents keen on avoiding last-minute panic are advised to get in touch with the gallery sooner rather than later.
If your household involves paint-splattered hands, sticky snack bags, and the occasional masterpiece stuck to the fridge, this might be the one event you won’t want to miss.
