NWU Rag and Residence Golf Day this August

North-West University’s annual Rag and Residence Golf Day is officially on the calendar for Thursday, 6 August 2026. The event will take place at the Potchefstroom Golf Course, bringing together students, alumni, and local golfers for a day on the green aimed at supporting community outreach.

The initiative serves as a major fundraiser for the university’s student welfare organisation, SRCS.

Raising funds for local projects

All proceeds from the golf day go directly to SRCS, which currently manages and supports 56 active community projects. These student-led initiatives provide practical relief and development support across the region.

Among their ongoing projects, SRCS volunteers assist with renovating and painting local schools, distributing food parcels to families in need, and providing clothing and emergency first-aid supplies to families affected by house fires.

Tournament details and registration

The tournament is formatted as a four-ball competition, with the registration fee set at R2 500 per team, which includes halfway house meals.

Golfers looking to secure a golf cart are advised to book directly with the pro shop, as there are only 28 carts available for the day. Participants must complete their registration via the event's QR code and ensure payments are finalised ahead of the tournament.
