A community-based fundraising campaign has been initiated to support Jaydin Pelser, a Grade 12 learner and student leader at Potchefstroom Gimnasium (Gimmies), ahead of his upcoming academic and sporting commitments for the 2026 calendar year.

The appeal, launched by his mother, Jacqueline Pelser, aims to raise financial support and practical assistance to cover essential costs for his final school milestones, regional sports selection, and impending tertiary education.
Academic Leadership and Sporting Profile
Pelser has maintained a prominent profile within the Potchefstroom Gimnasium structures since 2022. During his final year, he has been appointed to leadership positions within both the school and the student hostel.
His extra-curricular profile includes serving as the head cheerleader and actively participating across multiple sporting platforms, representing the school in the 1st and 2nd multi-format rugby teams as well as the official Sevens rugby team.
In addition to his school commitments, Pelser has been selected to participate in the upcoming national Bokkie Week rugby tournament, which is scheduled to take place in Naboomspruit from 6 July to 10 July 2026.
Breakdown of Financial and Logistical Requirements
The fundraising drive focuses on three primary areas of expenditure:
Bokkie Week Rugby Tour: The base cost for tournament participation is finalized at R5,800. This amount excludes the required official rugby attire, which totals R3,300, as well as general player spending money.
Matric Milestones and Farewell: Assistance is required to facilitate full participation in final-year activities, including the Matric Farewell. The family is open to financial contributions or the direct provision of professional services, including suit hire, photography, and transport logistics.
Tertiary Studies (2027): Funds are being raised to assist with registration and initial academic expenses for the 2027 academic year, where Pelser intends to pursue a degree in Sport Management at the North West University (NWU).
