Phew, what a jam-packed week it’s been here at The Go-To Guy! Week 20 saw us all over Potchefstroom – from muddy fields at NAMPO to rugby fields, streets, and community halls. We met inspiring people, heard tough stories, and shared a few small victories along the way. Let’s dive in!

14 May – Spiritual Talk Ep. 31 with Bennie Jonker
This week, Pieter Conradie sat down with Bennie Jonker for an impactful Spiritual Talk session on how a renewed mind starts with a renewed heart. It’s the kind of conversation that leaves you thinking, growing, and feeling a little more connected.
SportStroom: Passion, Power, and Perseverance
12 May – Jukskei Pride with Willie Swart
We celebrated Willie Swart, the only North West player selected for the Masters Jukskei tour team to Swakopmund, Namibia. A story of pride and dedication you definitely don’t want to miss.
14 May – Rugby & Business with Freddy Ngoza
From Springbok loose forward to Luiperds coach and CEO of Phoenix Sports Group, Freddy Ngoza shared his journey through provincial, international, and now business arenas. His story is a lesson in resilience and vision.

Dream Team 1: Our Eyes in the Field
10 May – Potch Dorp Rugby Kicks Off
It’s rugby season in Potch, and Potchefstroom Dorp Rugby Club kicked off their A League campaign. We were there, from chatting with captain Marnus Venter, to hearing from Sticks, our Man of the Match. Expect more fire on the field in the games ahead.
12 May – Wiele-dag Fun with M.L. Fick Kekkel and Kraai
Colour, laughter, and wheels everywhere – Wiele-dag 2025 at Hoër Volkskool was a blast. We took a spin through the day and already can’t wait for 2026.
13-15 May – NAMPO 2025 in Full Swing
NAMPO fever hit, and our team was everywhere:
Made by Mosaic blew us away with handmade leather goods.
ALGAR reminded us why they’re a name farmers trust.
We drooled over the John Deere 9RX 830 tractor – an absolute beast.
Tap4Impact showed us how one tap can bring hope to farming communities.
Kress Powertools flexed their muscle with some epic specials.
4x4 Mega World made us dream of off-road adventures.
Agri-Alert’s SpotBot – clever tech keeping homes and farms safe.
Inttrac Trading showcased precision farming tools for modern agriculture.

Community Updates
12 May – Road Closures and Robberies
Potch saw a few disruptions:
Dr Govan Mbeki Drive intersection closed for construction – avoid if you can.
An armed robbery at River Walk Mall shocked the community. Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported.
13 May – Community in Crisis
We were on the ground at Baillie Park, where the Janse van Rensburg family lost everything in a devastating house fire. Thankfully, all family members escaped unharmed.
15 May – N12 Closed for Safety Simulation
Heads up! The N12 highway was closed for a safety exercise, in collaboration with Harmony Gold, SANRAL, and local emergency services.

Special Happy Birthday
A special shoutout to our dear friend, colleague, and brand-new mom Johané, who celebrated her 30th birthday on 15 May! We hope your day was filled with love, laughter, and a few well-deserved spoils. From all of us at The Go-To Guy, we wish you a year ahead that’s as beautiful, strong, and full of joy as you are.
