Unstoppable on Court: Jongspan U10A Netball Crowned Merafong League Champions

The future of netball at Laerskool Jongspan Primary looks incredibly bright after the school’s stellar Under 10A team achieved a massive milestone this week. In a phenomenal display of skill, teamwork, and tactical dominance, the young netball stars have officially been crowned the Merafong Pool 4 League Winners for the 2026 season.

Their league triumph has also earned them a coveted ticket to the prestigious D2 (District) Finals, which are scheduled to take place this coming Thursday, 21 May 2026.

The Formula for Success: Dedication and Coaching

Winning a league title requires consistency, intense focus, and hours of hard work behind the scenes. Throughout the season, the U10A team has shown tremendous growth, outclassing their pool opponents with sharp passing, rock-solid defensive intercepts, and clinical shooting in the circle.

Much of this success is attributed to the masterminds on the sidelines. The school extended a special congratulations to the team's dedicated mentors, Mrs. Jezelle Burger and Miss Chante-Lize Jonck, whose expert coaching, encouragement, and strategic planning have molded these young players into an elite championship unit.

Eyes on the Big Prize: The District Finals

There is very little time for the team to rest on their laurels, as the ultimate test awaits them this Thursday. The District 2 Finals bring together the absolute best pool winners from across the region, meaning the competition will be fierce and the margin for error slim.

However, with the momentum of an undefeated pool campaign and the entire Jongspan community rallying behind them, the girls are heading into the finals filled with well-earned confidence.

The school management, parents, and fellow learners are incredibly proud of these young sporting ambassadors. Run out with pride on Thursday, girls, play your hearts out, and keep the Jongspan flag flying high!
