After a few years of moonlighting as a hybrid mountainbike event, the Crater Cruise is officially returning to its roots at Koedoeslaagte Trail Park, just outside Parys, on Sunday 8 June 2025. Born in 2004, the Crater Cruise was way ahead of the gravel curve, and now it's back in full force. It’s event #3 in the Gauteng Gravel Series and open to all provinces and nationalities. Don’t stress if you’re not rocking a gravel-specific bike – mountainbikes are still welcome, just not for the U/23 Elite log. Four Distances, One Big Day Out There’s something for every level of cyclist – whether you’re chasing medals or just out to flirt with the dirt: • 145 km Full-Cruise – R680 For the serious racers: Elite, U/23, Vets (30-59), and an OPEN category for the rest of us mortals. • 92 km Crater Cruise – R480 Juniors, Vets Women (40+), Masters (60+) and OPEN category. • 50 km Half Cruise – R380 Youth and Sub-Juniors, plus anyone wanting a solid day out without full commitment. • 15 km Dirt Flirt – R200 Fun, timed, and probably a lot of giggling.
