The Proteas are on the verge of a perfect group stage finish at the T20 World Cup, having restricted the UAE to a modest total in Delhi. However, fans will have to wait a little longer for the conclusion, as a sudden downpour has delayed the start of the South African run chase.

Clinical Bowling Performance
From the outset, South Africa’s bowling attack looked clinical and disciplined. They set the tone during the PowerPlay, striking early to leave the UAE reeling at 44/2 after the first six overs. The pressure didn't let up through the middle periods, as the Proteas utilized a "squeeze" tactic to dry up the boundaries.
By the halfway mark, the UAE had struggled to 66/3, and despite a late-innings effort to accelerate, the Proteas' death bowling remained world-class. The UAE eventually finished their 20 overs on 122/6.
The Target: 123 for the Sweep
When play resumes, the Proteas will be hunting a target of 123 runs from 120 balls (Required Run Rate: 6.15). Given the depth of the South African batting lineup, the team will certainly fancy their chances of chasing this down comfortably to secure a clean sweep of their group.
Rain Update from Delhi
The covers remain on at the stadium in Delhi. While the delay is a frustration for the momentum built by the bowlers, the modest target means that even if the match is shortened via the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method, the Proteas remain in a very strong position to advance with a win.
