The JB Marks Local Municipality has confirmed the successful completion of extensive upgrade work at the Ventersdorp Road Pump Station.  The facility, which underwent demanding improvements to its pumping infrastructure, has now resumed operations, marking the end of a shutdown that affected several communities across the region. Low-lying areas  are expected to begin receiving water later the same day. High-lying areas , particularly in and around the Ikageng Extensions , are projected to have supply restored by the following day at the latest. This staged recovery is part of the normal process following pump station upgrades and ensures that the water network stabilises safely and effectively. Technical Effort and Community Impact The upgrades at the pump station included the installation of new infrastructure designed to strengthen reliability and improve long-term water supply. The municipality emphasised that both the technical team and the appointed contractor worked with urgency and commitment to complete the project as quickly as possible. During the shutdown period, communities in Promosa, Mohadin, Dassierand, Kannoniers Park, the SANDF Base, Witrand Hospital, and the Ikageng Extensions were impacted by reduced or suspended supply. The successful completion of this upgrade now brings relief to households and institutions that had been waiting for the restoration of normal service. Apology and Commitment to Service Reliability Municipal officials acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the disruption and expressed appreciation for residents’ patience during the process.
