On 25 July 2025, the non-profit is hosting one of its annual blood drives, and it’s all happening at 18 Goetz Street, right in the heart of town. The Why: Blood, Sweat and... Just Blood Actually South Africa’s blood supply is a bit like a group chat, if no one contributes, nothing happens. Donating blood is a small act with big consequences. A single unit of blood can save up to three lives, since it's separated into red blood cells, plasma and platelets. So even if you’re squeamish at the sight of a paper cut, rest assured your donation could keep someone alive on the operating table, or help someone with a chronic illness carry on with life. Potchefstroom Dorp Rugbyklub travelled to Rustenburg on 28 June 2025 to take on the formidable Sibanye teams in what turned out to be a fiercely contested day of rugby. The fixture, hosted away from home, tested the teams and offered another opportunity to rebuild momentum. Despite changes in conditions and tough opposition, all teams gave their best, with special recognition due to the third team for maintaining a perfect record thus far this year. Matchday Results – 28 June 2025 🔴 Third Team: No Match Played (Off Weekend) The third team had a well-deserved break and did not take the field this weekend. However, their 2025 record remains impressive, having won every game they've played so far. 🔴 Second Team: Potch Dorp 12 – Sibanye 2nd 27 The second team fought hard but came up short against a structured Sibanye outfit. Despite the loss, the players showed heart and commitment, giving their all on the field. It was one of those days where the bounce of the rugby ball didn’t go their way, but the team held their heads high and gained valuable experience. 🔴 First Team: Potch Dorp 19 – Sibanye 1st 26 Sibanye once again proved to be a tough opponent for the Potchefstroom side. On 27 June 2025, the 4 Artillery Regiment Military Base in Potchefstroom became the stage for a significant milestone in youth development, as the National Rural Youth Service Corps (NARYSEC) hosted its official pass-out parade. The event celebrated the achievements of young participants who have successfully completed their training under this nationally recognized empowerment program.
