The sense of expectation was palpable: neighbours knew something meaningful was about to unfold. Families, young and old, waited patiently, and before long the street filled with people. Volunteers in bright spirits welcomed them, directing some to clothing rails, others to the food tables, and many to simple conversations of encouragement. There was more stock to distribute - clothing, shoes, toiletries, children’s toys, and Bibles in different languages and there were more hands to help . However, two 3.4ML reservoirs remain offline due to valve replacement and sediment flushing, with operations expected to resume on 19 August. Ventersdorp Road Station  shows mixed results, with reservoirs at 75%, 71%, and 64%. The 15ML unit is under close observation as it approaches a critical 60% threshold. Emergency pumping schedules have been activated to stabilise levels. Ikageng Area reservoirs  are reported as stable, with one reservoir at 78% and another at full capacity, currently covering nearly 19,200 households. Eesterandjies Complex  remains the most concerning, with one reservoir emptied for cleaning (day 7) and another isolated for pipeline corrosion repairs. Supply gaps are being covered by Ikageng West. With 15 years under its belt, the Klerksdorp Sevens has grown into one of the longest-running events of its kind in South Africa.
