Die afgelope vier weke het verskeie individue en maatskappye ‘n helpende hand uitgestrek om die dorp verder te verfraai, veral die nuwe waterwise tuine voor Kooperasie Kroeg en Kos. In ‘n vorige artikel het Leanie van Ronge, een van die voorloper vrywilligers (en die een met die groen vingers), genoem dat hierdie nie net ‘n ‘one-and-done’ projek is nie, maar wel ‘n deurlopende een. Dit is juis waar die gemeenskap nou betrokke kan raak en ‘n bydra lewer. Die span benodig nog ‘klein’ vetplante vir die tuine. SportStroom 29 October - Rising Star on the Cricket Pitch   This week’s SportStroom  celebrated one of Potchefstroom’s most promising young cricketers - a name already turning heads since 2022. With a blazing 100 runs off 46 balls and an astonishing 6 wickets for just 2 runs, this youngster has dominated at both district and SAINTS 1st team level. His determination and discipline have made him a cornerstone of every side he represents. In conversation with Drikus Viljoen, he shared his highlights, his daily grind, and how teamwork keeps his passion alive. Mooirivier Beskerming has released the September 2025 crime statistics  for Potchefstroom, providing an important overview of local safety trends and emergency responses across the region. The report, which includes both crime-related incidents and medical emergencies, forms part of the company’s ongoing commitment to transparency, vigilance, and community safety. Image:  Mooirivier Beskerming Overall Incident Summary: During September, Mooirivier Beskerming recorded a total of 37 medical requests  and a variety of criminal incidents throughout Potchefstroom. These figures highlight the continuous effort required from both residents and response teams to maintain safety within the community. Key Statistics: Medical and Emergency Calls:  37 Mooirivier medical requests and 14 ER24 medical requests were logged during the month, reflecting the high level of responsiveness in local emergency services. Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVA):  33 MVAs with no injuries and 16 involving injuries were recorded, indicating that road-related incidents continue to be a significant area of concern. Property Crimes:  There were 6 residential burglaries  and 5 commercial burglaries , while common theft  cases stood at 17 and theft from or out of vehicles  at 3. Violent Crimes:  The report noted 4 common robberies with a weapon , 3 rape  cases, and 2 assaults with grievous bodily harm (GBH) . Other Reported Incidents:  18 cases of malicious damage , 6 scams , and 7 trespassing  incidents were also recorded.
