The wait is finally over as the FNB NWU Eagles  prepare for a massive double-header against the FNB UCT Ikeys  today, Monday, 30 March 2026. With both the FNB Young Guns  and the senior Varsity Cup  squads taking to the field, the energy in Potchefstroom is electric. However, the most important "play" of the day happens before you even reach the grandstands. Due to recent weather conditions, the NWU Varsity Cup organizers have implemented emergency changes to parking and stadium access that affect every single ticket holder. If you are planning to support our boys in purple today, please disregard your usual match-day routine. Mother Nature has forced a tactical shift in how we enter the Fanie du Toit Sports Grounds. The Current Situation: RAG Farm Flooding Heavy rains have led to significant flooding in the RAG Farm area , rendering the entire section unusable for the day. This area, which typically serves as a primary parking hub and thoroughfare for fans, is currently submerged and poses a safety risk for vehicles and pedestrians alike. As a result, the RAG Farm precinct is officially closed . No spectators will be permitted to park or enter the stadium through this traditional route for either the Young Guns or the main Varsity Cup fixture. Revised Parking: Senwes Cricket Stadium To ensure everyone can get to the game safely, the organizers have secured an alternative parking solution. All spectator parking for today’s matches has been moved to the Senwes Cricket Stadium  parking area. Primary Access:  Entry to the parking area is exclusively via Thabo Mbeki Way . The Pedestrian Path:  After parking, spectators will enter through the cricket stadium gates. You will then walk through the Senwes Cricket Stadium precinct to reach the Fanie du Toit Sports Grounds. Marshals & Signage:  To make the transition as smooth as possible, NWU marshals will be stationed throughout the route, and pedestrian pathways will be clearly marked. Please follow their instructions to ensure a quick and orderly flow of traffic. Operational Restrictions: Loop Street It is critical to note that the Loop Street gate  is strictly reserved for operational access only. This entrance is designated for emergency services, broadcast teams, and match officials. No ticket-holding spectators  will be allowed to enter via Loop Street, and the area cannot be used for parking or spectator drop-offs. Using this gate will result in being turned away, which may cause you to miss the opening kickoff. Game Day Preparation Because the walk from the Senwes parking area adds a bit of distance to your journey, we strongly recommend that fans arrive at least 45 to 60 minutes earlier  than planned. With two matches on the roster, the Young Guns and the senior Eagles, the volume of fans will be high. Early arrival ensures you have ample time to navigate the new pathways and clear security without the stress of the pre-game rush.
