RESUS: Resuscitation (CPR)   Resus  is short for resuscitation , commonly meaning attempts to revive someone from cardiac arrest, in practice, performing CPR ( cardiopulmonary resuscitation ) on them . When a message says a patient is “under resus”  or “resuscitated,”  it indicates that emergency responders are actively trying to restart the person’s heart or breathing . This usually involves CPR chest compressions, artificial ventilation, and possibly defibrillation. For example, if someone was pulled from a near-drowning or had a cardiac arrest after an accident, paramedics might report “RESUS ongoing” . Essentially, it’s the critical effort to bring a patient back from the brink of death. Potchefstroom, 24 June 2025 Community Progress Report JB Marks Local Municipality has shared a detailed progress report highlighting ongoing work and recent completions across multiple essential services, from road repairs and sewage resolution to critical water infrastructure and waste management. The latest update reflects a mix of challenges being addressed and early signs of sustained improvement in targeted areas. 🛣️ Road and Paving Projects: Improvements on Key Routes Municipal road teams continued maintenance efforts across several key locations: Bloemetjie Street Pothole preparation has been finalized, with all cavities squared off and stabilized. Asphalt infill and final surfacing are scheduled for tomorrow . Retief & Luke Street Intersection (Pick n Pay Zone) Roughly 80% of patching work  was completed over the weekend. Final patching and compaction will take place on Tuesday morning . Crews will then return to Bloemetjie Street for the final resurfacing phase. Chief Albert Luthuli & Louis le Grange Intersection Paving progress now stands at 51% completion . Work is ongoing, with more ground expected to be covered tomorrow. 💧 Water Infrastructure and System Monitoring Water system assessments and trench preparation also formed a key part of recent developments: Ward 18 Excavation Support Water was pumped from trenches in advance of geotechnical assessments by AGES . The work aims to ensure the trench environment is stable and ready for detailed study.
