The JB Marks Local Municipality  has officially issued a public notice convening a critical participation meeting scheduled for Thursday, 19 March 2026 . This gathering is a central component of the municipality’s oversight process regarding the 2024/2025 Annual Report . In accordance with Section 129(3)  of the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA) , the Municipal Council is legally required to consider the performance report and provide a platform for the local community to submit formal representations and comments. The invitation, issued by the Office of the Municipal Public Accounts Committee (MPAC) , underscores the local government's commitment to transparency and legislative compliance. By opening the floor to members of the public, stakeholders, and interested parties, the municipality seeks to validate its reported achievements and address service delivery gaps identified during the previous fiscal cycle. Meeting Details and Oversight Leadership The public engagement session is spearheaded by the MPAC Chairperson, Cllr. Rufane Alistair Makousa , whose office is responsible for the independent review of municipal spending and performance. The meeting is set to take place at the Madiba Banqueting Halls  starting at 17h00 . This venue serves as a central point for residents from across the municipality to gather and provide direct input on the contents of the Annual Report. The MPAC plays a vital "watchdog" role within the council structure. During this session, the committee will facilitate discussions on how public funds were utilized and whether the targets set out in the Service Delivery and Budget Implementation Plan (SDBIP) were met. This process ensures that the executive arm of the municipality remains accountable to the constituency it serves. Submission Guidelines and Deadlines To ensure that all voices are heard, the municipality has established multiple channels for communication. Beyond the physical meeting on March 19, members of the community are encouraged to submit written queries, inputs, or comments concerning the report. Die atlete van Hoërskool Fochville het die afgelope naweek gewys waarom hulle as ’n krag in provinsiale atletiek beskou word. Tydens die strawwe Gauteng Atletiekbyeenkoms het die "Fochies" nie net medaljes ingepalm nie, maar ook hul plek op die nasionale verhoog bespreek. Image: Hoërskool Fochville Dewald Prinsloo: Koning van die Gooi-items Die uitblinker van die dag was ongetwyfeld Dewald Prinsloo (o/19). Hy het die diskus-item oorheers met ’n eerste plek en ook ’n bronsmedalje in gewigstoot (3de plek) behaal. Sy uitsonderlike prestasies het aan hom provinsiale kleure in beide items besorg. Dewald sal die Gauteng-span verteenwoordig tydens die SA-kampioenskappe wat vroeg in April 2026 in Rustenburg plaasvind. Goue Aflosse en Nuwe Rekords Fochville se spoedvrate het gehelp om geskiedenis te skryf in die aflos-items: Mieke Gerber en Lethabo Pehela  was deel van die Gauteng-Wes o/15-span wat die goue medalje gewen het. Megan Smith  het die o/17-span tot ’n eerste plek gelei. Albei hierdie aflosspanne het nie net gewen nie, maar ook nuwe rekords  opgestel, wat die kaliber van talent in die skool beklemtoon. Indrukwekkende Top-10 Vertonings Die res van die Fochville-span het deurgaans onder die top-atlete in die provinsie geëindig: Megan Smith (o/17):  3de in haar 100m-hekkies uitdun en 6de in verspring. Mieke Gerber (o/15):  5de plek in die 100m-finaal. Lethabo Pehela (o/15):  6de plek in die 100m-finaal. Jané Nel (o/17) & Hayden Johnstone (o/15):  Albei behaal ’n stewige 7de plek in spiesgooi. Jaydean Lourens (o/15):  9de plek in verspring. Fochie Trots Die skoolbestuur het hul gelukwensing aan elke atleet oorgedra en beklemtoon dat hierdie welslae die resultaat is van toewyding en die onstuitbare "Blougolf"-gees.
